Photo to Laser Engraving
Upload a photo and get a black-and-white file ready to send to your laser. Detail, tone and dot size are tuned automatically for your material.
Any JPG or PNG. Portraits, pets and landscapes work great. Logos are detected automatically.
Detail, tone and burn spread are compensated for the material — the preview shows how it will look.
The file keeps its size in mm. In LightBurn / RDWorks use Threshold (pass-through) image mode with the line interval shown.
Why lasers need dithered images
Most CO2 and diode lasers cannot burn shades of grey reliably: every dot is either burned or not. Dithering turns the tones of a photo into a pattern of dots, so the eye sees greys again. This tool also compensates for burn spread — a burned dot on wood is always larger than one pixel — so the engraving keeps its shadows and highlights instead of turning into a dark patch.
Which settings should I use in LightBurn?
Import the PNG, set the image mode to Threshold (or Pass-Through) and the line interval shown under the download button. Do not let the software dither the image a second time.
Is it free?
Yes. The tool runs entirely in your browser; your photos are not uploaded anywhere.
