A large pirate-style book with a double cover. Sturdy construction, smooth inside. A plain version without engraving is included for your own graphics.
It fits A4 or Letter paper, so your laser work area must be a little larger than the biggest part, 320 × 225 mm. You need about 3 sheets of 500 × 300 mm.
The engraving runs horizontally and does not take long; try to match the wood grain to the faux wood direction. A rope up to 2 mm thick and about 50 cm long makes it look even better, but is optional.
Painting: black acrylic diluted with water about 1:1, then sand the lid and finish with rosewood glaze or stain.
