DM Screen 00307 – Digital Laser Cutting Files
This is a set of digital files for manufacturing a classic three-panel DM screen on a CO₂ or diode laser machine.
The central panel fits A4 or Letter paper, and the two side panels fit A5 or Half Letter. The side panels fold over the central panel like doors and close with two magnetic locks. The locks face in opposite directions, so the doors stay firmly shut. Each panel has a slot at the top for additional cards. Paper sheets are held with round magnets (5 × 1 mm / 0.19 × 0.03 in). The backing is cut from 1 mm (0.03 in) felt, but you may substitute other materials if desired.
The panels are connected with wooden knuckle hinges. The screen opens flat on the table and folds into a compact closed box, making it convenient to store and carry.
Design and Development
The sample shown in the photos is cut from 3 mm (0.12 in / 1/8 in) birch plywood. Every panel has an internal grid of stiffening ribs, so the screen stays flat and rigid despite the thin plywood. All graphics are hand-drawn and easily customizable – you can add your own text, logos, or images. The screen consists of 168 individual parts assembled and glued into one solid structure.

If your laser machine's working area is smaller, this project is not suitable.
Magnet Requirements
21 round magnets – 5 × 1 mm (0.19 × 0.03 in) for holding paper
4 magnets – 3 × 3 mm (0.11 × 0.11 in) for the two magnetic locks (the magnet must not be thicker than the plywood)
Magnet sizes can be adjusted in any vector editor.
